Hailakandi district

Hailakandi district was one of the 27 districts of Assam state in north-eastern India. It was constituted as a civil subdivision on 1 June 1869. Subsequently, it was upgraded to district in 1989, when it was split from Cachar district. As of 2011 it is the third least populous district of Assam, after Dima Hasao and Chirang.

National Institute of Technology, Silchar

National Institute Of Technology, Silchar (NIT Silchar; Hindi: राष्ट्रीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान, सिलचर) is an Institute of higher education situated in Silchar, Assam, India. NIT Silchar is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College. In 2002 it was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.
