English Bazar or Ingraj Bazar, better known as Malda, called the "Mango City", is a city and a municipality in Maldah district in the state of West Bengal, India. Malda is located on the banks of the Mahananda River and it is the fifth largest city in West Bengal. Malda is nominated for becoming a municipal corporation (both English Bazar municipality & Old Malda municipality), and is the second largest city in North Bengal. It serves as the district headquarters.
