Sainik School, Manasbal

Sainik School Manasbal is a military school in Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is the second sainik school in the state of J&K, the first being in Nagrota. The school was established by the Sainik Schools Society and founded by then-Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Abdullah in 1980. The school comes under the control of state government and Ministry of Defence and was also the first Sainik School in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Manasbal Lake

Manasbal Lake is located in the Jhelum valley, north of Srinagar city in the State of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The name Manasbal is said to be a derivative of the Lake Manasarovar. Lake is encircled by three villages viz. , Jarokbal, Kondabal (also called Kiln place, is situated on the north-eastern side of the lake) and Ganderbal and is stated to be the deepest lake in the Kashmir valley.

Central University of Kashmir

The Central University of Kashmir formerly the Central University of Jammu and Kashmir, is a university in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is one of 13 new central universities in Jammu and Kashmir established by the Central Universities Act, 2009. It currently offers five-year integrated programs, as well as postgraduate degrees in three areas: MA in English Language & Literature, MSc in Information Technology, and Master's in Business Administration.

1998 Wandhama massacre

The 1998 Wandhama massacre refers to the murder of 23 Kashmiri Pandit Hindus in the town of Wandhama {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:34.2486|N|74.7333|E||||| | |name= }} in Jammu and Kashmir on 25 January 1998. The victims included four children, nine women and 10 men. Lashkar-e-Taiba has been blamed for prepetrating this massacre. The attackers also demolished a Hindu temple and a house.

Kheer Bhawani

Kheer Bhawani is a temple dedicated to the Goddess Kheer Bhawani (originally just Bhawani) constructed over a sacred spring . The worship of Kheer Bhawani is universal among the Hindus of Kashmir. The temple is situated at a distance of 14 miles east of Srinagar near the village of Tula Mula. The term kheer refers to rice pudding that is offered in the spring to propitiate the Goddess, which became part of the name of the temple.
