Karnatak University

Karnatak University (Kannada: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ) was established at Dharwad in October 1949. It had its official inauguration in March 1950. The campus spans 750 acres (3 km²). Dr. D. C. Pavate was the vice-chancellor from 1954 to 1967. The rapid development of the institution is credited to him. The university was recognized with the "Potential for Excellence" by the University Grants Commission. The university is the second oldest, after University of Mysore, in the state of Karnataka. H.

D. C. Pavate

Dadasaheb Chintmani Pavate, M. A (Cantab) (1899–1978) was awarded Padma Bhushan from the Government of India in 1967. He was the vice-chancellor of the Karnatak university Dharwar, and the Governor of Punjab. Pavate was a Cambridge Mathematical Tripos wrangler. Pavate was born in Mamdapur a small village next to Gokak town. His mother was Shantamma. His father was a Lingayat farmer. Pavate completed primary schooling from Mamdapur and high school from Gokak. He stood first in B.

University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, (UASD) is a State Public university established by the Government of Karnataka which imparts Education, Research and Extension activities in the field of agriculture, forestry and home science. Karnatak College Dharwar

Karnatak College of Arts and Science, Dharwar (1917) is one of the leading institutions in Karnataka, India offering B.A. , B. Com. and B. Sc. degrees. Hubli-Dharwad

Hubli-Dharwad are twin cities in Indian state of Karnataka. Hubli-Dharwad is the second-largest conurbation in Karnataka after Bengaluru. While Dharwad is the administrative headquarters, the city of Hubli, situated about 20 km south-east of Dharwad, is the commercial centre and business hub of North Karnataka. The cities have a single municipal corporation called Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC).
