Attappadi Reserve Forest is a protected area comprising 249 km² of land covering the westernmost part of the 745 km² Attappadi block of Mannarghat Taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala, south India. There is a Government Goat Farm at Attapadi village which has the "Attapadi Black" breed available.

Coimbatore Junction railway station

Coimbatore Junction, also known as Kovai Junction, is the primary railway station serving the city of Coimbatore. It has six platforms. It is a Major Railway junction in South India and the second busiest railway station in Tamil Nadu in Tamil Nadu. Many trains from Kerala to other parts of the country pass through Coimbatore Junction apart from 16 pairs of terminating trains. It is one of the top booking stations in India according to Indian Railway.

Sairandhri

Sairandhri is a place in Kerala, southern India at about {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:11|5.22|N|76|27.24|E||| | |name= }}. It is the entrance point and visitors center for Silent Valley National Park. Sairandhri is the site of a controversial hydroelectric dam that was proposed in 1958 and finally rejected in 1984. The nearest town is Mannarkad, 32 km. Sairandhri is a 1½ hour drive along a 23 km steep winding road from Mukkali village that houses a Forest Department office.

Mannarkkad

Mannarkkad, formerly known as Mannarghat, is a town in the Palakkad district of Kerala State, South India. It is the headquarters of Mannarkkad Taluk, and is one of the largest revenue Taluks in Kerala. It is situated 40 km north-east of the district headquarters Palakkad, on the way to Kozhikode and in the foothills of the Western Ghats. Silent Valley (a tropical evergreen rain forest with an unbroken evolutionary history of 50 million years) is only 35 km from Mannarkkad.

Siruvani Waterfalls

Siruvani Waterfalls and the dam named after them are located 46 km north of Mannarkad, Palakkad town in the Western Ghats. The reservoir at Siruvani was built for Tamil Nadu by the Kerala Government to meet the drinking water requirements of Coimbatore city. The gateways on either side of the road across the dam are typical of the Kerala and Tamil architectural styles. Siruvani is also home to certain tribals like the Mudugars and Irulars..
