Kongad

Kongad is a medium-sized town in Palakkad district in the South Indian state of Kerala, and is 20 km north-west of Palakkad town. Nearby towns include Karimpuzha in the west, Mannarakkad in the north, Mundur in the east and Lakkidi and Mankara in the south. The nearest airport is at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu state. Palakkad Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Kongad Thirumandhamkunnu Bhagavathy Kshetram is the major attraction.

Mankurussi

Mankurussi or Mankurissi is a small town near Palakkad in the state of Kerala in southern India. It is in the mid-way between Palakkad and Ottapalam, located 17 KM from Palakkad town in the Palakkad-Ponnani State Highway. It is a very green and picturesque village located on the banks of river Bharathapuzha. Mankurussi finds place even in some very old books and the word 'Mankurussi' means 'The Birthplace of Great men' (as quoted by a famous saint).

Palakkad Junction railway station

Palakkad Junction is second largest railway station in Kerala state, India situated in the city of Palakkad. It is located at 4 km from Palakkad Municipal Bus Terminus. The station falls in the Palakkad railway division of the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways. Palakkad Junction is the terminating point for the Palakkad-Pollachi rail line. The other station serving the city is Palakkad Town Railway Station.

Karimpuzha (Palakkad)

Karimpuzha is a village in Ottapalam taluk, Palakkad district. The Karimpuzha River is one of the tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River. Bharathapuzha is the fourth longest riverin Kerala, south India. A famous Sree Rama Swamy Temple is situated on the banks of this River. Temple was owned by Kozhikode Samoodhiripad. Eralpad, the heir to become Samoodhiri, had his "Kovilakam" in Karimpuzha. The Sree Ramaswamy temple is now known as "Dakshina Ayodhya".

Mannarkkad

Mannarkkad, formerly known as Mannarghat, is a town in the Palakkad district of Kerala State, South India. It is the headquarters of Mannarkkad Taluk, and is one of the largest revenue Taluks in Kerala. It is situated 40 km north-east of the district headquarters Palakkad, on the way to Kozhikode and in the foothills of the Western Ghats. Silent Valley (a tropical evergreen rain forest with an unbroken evolutionary history of 50 million years) is only 35 km from Mannarkkad.
