St. Mary's Cathedral, Punalur

Chathannoor

Chathannoor is a town in Kerala situated at the Kollam District on the banks of Ithikkara River. It is about 16 KM from Kollam City. Chathannoor is in the extreme east part of Kollam District of Kerala, around 55 km north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. Kollam Railway Station is only 18 km from the town and is well connected by buses. Nearest Airport is Thiruvanathapuram International Airport.

Kallada River

The Kallada River is one of two major rivers that flow through the Kollam District of Kerala, India. It originates on the Kulathupuzha hills near Ponmudi and travels for 121 km, flowing through Punalur, Pathanapuram, Kunnathur and Kallada before ending at Ashtamudi Lake. The Palaruvi Falls also feeds Kallada river.

Sasthamkotta Lake

Sasathamkotta Lake, also categorized as a wetland, is the largest fresh water lake in Kerala, a state of India on the south of the West Coast. The lake is named after the ancient Sastha temple (a pilgrimage centre) located on its bank. It meets the drinking water needs of half million people of the Quilon district and also provides fishing resources.
