Daund Junction railway station
Daund Junction is a railway junction on the Mumbai-Wadi railway line located in Daund, Maharashtra, that services trains operated by Indian Railways. Trains going northbound from Pune towards Ahmednagar, Shirdi, Manmad, Bhopal and New Delhi have to pass through this station. Daund Junction is a major stop for passenger trains and is a major freight hub. Now Daund Jn. is very important railway station with 7 Pf. Daily 140 trains passed via Daund Jn.

Ghod River
Ghod River is located in Pune District, Maharashtra, western India. It is a tributary of the Bhima River. The Ghod originates on the eastern slopes of the Western Ghats at 1,090 metres above sea level. It flows in an east-southeast direction for approximately 200 kilometres before its confluence with the Bhima. It flows from the northern side of the Bhimashankar hills. The Kukadi River is one of the tributaries of the Ghod.

Daund
Daund is a town and a municipal council in Pune district in the state of Maharashtra, India. In ancient times a sage, 'Dhaumya Rishi' used to stay here, hence people started calling this place after him: 'Dhaum'. Gradually 'Dhaum' became 'Dhoand', then 'Dhaundh', and before it getting corrupted to the present name 'Daund'. According to the Epic Mahabharata Krishna's wife Rukhmini had gone in the 'Dhindir forest', this ancient 'Dhindir Van' is today's Daund.
