Moirang

Moirang is a city and a municipal council in Bishnupur district in the Indian state of Manipur. Moirang is a town situated in the north east of India, 45 km from Imphal, Manipur. The Moirang C.D. Block came into existence on 4 April 1985 with its headquarters at Moirang Khunou about 1.5 km from the Kumbi main road. It has an area of 269 km² with a population of 62,187 (BPL Survey) in 67 villages.

Loktak Lake

Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater (sweet) lake in northeast India, also called the only Floating lake in the world due to the floating phumdis (heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil, and organic matters at various stages of decomposition) on it, is located near Moirang in Manipur state, India. The etymology of Loktak is Lok = "stream" and tak = "the end".

Toubul

Toubul is a village under Bishnupur district of Manipur in India with a total population of around 4651 people as per 2001 census. It is surrounded by farming lands in the west, north and south, and by Loktak lake in the east. Farming and fishery are the main source of livelihood. Toubul is one of the most affected villages by the hydroelectric power generation plant from Loktak lake (the biggest fresh water lake in north-east India).
