Dhamra River

Dhamra is a joint stream in Odisha that is formed by the confluence of the Brahmani and Baitarani rivers south of the town of Chandabali. It lies in the Bhadrak district and empties into the Bay of Bengal. To the north of its mouth is the Dhamra Port and near the mouth is the Gahirmatha sanctuary, a nesting site for the Olive Ridley turtles. The river mouth is as wide as 4 km and it enters the sea through two distinct river channels separated by an island formation called Kalibhanj.

Baitarani River

The Baitarani River or River Vaitarani is one of six major rivers of Odisha, India. Venerated in popular epics and legends, the Baitarani River is a source of water for agricultural irrigation. Most of the potentially arable land in the area is not under cultivation. The coastal plain of Odisha has the name of "Hexadeltaic region" or the "Gift of Six Rivers". These deltas divide the coastal plain into three regions from north to south.

Satabhaya, Odisha

Satabhaya is a village located on the coastal side of Orissa, prone to natural calamities like the deposition of sand dunes causing great havoc to the inhabitants since time immemorial. There is not even a cyclone-warning centre at this site. The village is at present surrounded by seawater, and the villagers are planning to migrate to a safer place.

Palmyras Point

Palmyras Point or Point Palmyras is a low headland in the Bay of Bengal. It is located at the eastern end of the Brahmani River delta in the state of Orissa, India, close to the Bhitarkanika wildlife sanctuary, an area of mangroves. False Point, located further south, derives its name from the circumstance that vessels proceeding up the Bay of Bengal frequently mistook it for Point Palmyras.
