Kalakshetra

Kalakshetra is a cultural academy dedicated to the preservation of traditional values in Indian art, especially in the field of Bharatanatyam dance and Gandharvaveda music. The academy was founded in January 1936 by Rukmini Devi Arundale. Under Arundale's guidance the institution achieved national and international recognition for its unique style and perfection. In 1962, Kalakshetra moved to a new campus in Besant Nagar, Chennai, India, occupying 40 hectares of land.

Buckingham Canal

The Buckingham Canal is a 421.55 kilometres long fresh water navigation canal, running parallel to the Coromandel Coast of South India from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh to Villupuram District in Tamil Nadu. The canal connects most of the natural backwaters along the coast to the port of Chennai (Madras). It was constructed during the British Rule, and was an important waterway during the late nineteenth and the twentieth century.

Rajiv Gandhi Salai

Old Mahabalipuram Road(OMR) or IT Corridor is a major rooad in suburban Chennai, India, beginning at the Madhya Kailash temple in Adyar in South Chennai and continuing south till Mahabalipuram in Kanchipuram district, ultimately merging with the East Coast Road. This is popularly called as the 'IT Corridor' because this stretch has become home to many IT/ITES companies. This road is State highway-49A.

Ashtalakshmi Kovil

The Ashtalakshmi Kovil is an Hindu temple, which lies on the shorelines near the Elliot's beach, in Chennai, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, who, according to the Hindu mythology, is the giver all eight forms of wealth, namely, offspring, success, prosperity, wealth, courage, bravery, food, and knowledge. The sanctorums are depicted on a multi-tier complex in such a way that visitors could visit all the shrines without stepping over any of the sanctorums.

Perungudi

Perungudi is a city in Kancheepuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a suburb of Chennai, situated about 10kilometres from the popular town centre of Adyar. It is bordered on two sides by the old Mahabalipuram Road and the Perungudi lake.
