Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary

Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary is located 54 km from Pithoragarh near Askot in Uttarakhand state of India. This sanctuary has been set up primarily with the object of conserving the musk deer and its habitat. Intensive efforts have been initiated to conserve this rare species. Other mammals found in this sanctuary include the leopard, jungle cat, civet cat, barking deer, serow, goral and brown bear. Many species of high altitude birds are also found in this sanctuary.

Narayan Swamy

Narayan Swamy (2 December 1914 – 9 November 1956) was an Indian hermit and social worker. In 1936, he established "Narayan Ashram" between the villages of Sosa and Sirdang, Pithoragarh district, Uttranchal, India. Khushal Singh Hyanki, a resident of Sosa, donated the land.

Meola Glacier

Meola Glacier or Athasi-Balati Glacier is the Himalayan glacier situated in the eastern part of Uttarakhand in the Pithoragarh district of India. Meola Glacier is located at the base of the five peaks of Panchchuli in the Lassar Yankti valley. The Meola Glacier combines with the Sona Glacier to form the famous Panchchuli Glacier. Sona and Meola glaciers serve as the route to climb the Panchchuli peaks from the east. Sona glacier is situated north to Meola glacier.
