Pangkajene River

The Pangkajene is a river of southwestern Sulawesi, Indonesia, north of Makassar. It flows into the Polong River and Tangnga River near the sea at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:4|50|55|S|119|30|41|E| | |name= }}, near the village of the same name. Upstream, the stretch of river is known as the Koraja River. The rock of the river is Jurassic Paremba Sandstone and contains many shallow marine sedimentary rocks and crystalline schists.

Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport

Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport is located 17 km northeast of Makassar and operated by PT. Angkasa Pura I. The new terminal was opened on 20 August 2008. This airport is the main gateway for flights to the eastern part of Indonesia, and named after Sultan Hasanuddin, a Sultan of Gowa, who fought against the Dutch East India Company in the 1660s.

Makassar

Makassar — sometimes spelled Macassar, Mangkasara — is the provincial capital of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, and the largest city on Sulawesi Island. From 1971 to 1999, the city was named Ujung Pandang, after a precolonial fort in the city, and the two names are often used interchangeably.
