Lake Dukan
Lake Dukan (or Lake Dokan) is the largest lake in Iraqi Kurdistan. It is located close to the city of Ranya, and is a reservoir on the Little Zab created by the construction of the Dukan Dam. The Dukan Dam was built between 1954 and 1959 as a multi-purpose dam to provide water storage, irrigation and hydroelectricity. Prior to the flooding of Lake Dukan, the area has been subjected to archaeological research to investigate as many archaeological sites as possible.

Koya University
Koya University is located in Koysinjaq, near Arbil, capital of Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It was established in 2003 The university included six colleges: Engineering, Agriculture, Science, Law, Arts, and Education. Right after the uprising of March 1991 and the liberation of large parts of Iraqi Kurdistan, a climate of freedom and democracy prevailed. The long-standing dream of the Kurdish people which was seen in forming Parliament as well as Kurdistan regional government came true.

Koy Sanjaq
The town Koy Sanjaq is located in the Erbil Governorate of Iraqi Kurdistan, close to the Iranian border. Wallace Lyon, travelling through the town in 1923, compared it to Sulaimani and noted that it was a centre for tobacco. The governor at the time was Jamil Agha Howaizi, succeeding the late Hama Agha Ghafuri. The population is between 50,000 and 100,000.
