Nineveh plains

Nineveh plains is a region in the Ninawa Governorate of Iraq to the north and east of the city Mosul. The area generally consists of three districts; Tel Keppe, Al-Hamdaniya, and Al-Shikhan. The area includes the ancient Assyrian ruins of the cities of Nineveh, Nimrud and Dur-Sharrukin.

Ba'adra

Ba'adra, also rendered Baadre,Badra and Bathra,, is a town located in the Shekhan District of the Ninawa Governorate in northern Iraq. Ba'adra's residents are mostly Yazidis with a small Assyrian Christian minority. The town and the surrounding villages were demolished and later recolonised by Arabs during the late 1960s. Most of Arabs, however, returned to their original settlements after 2003.

Duhok Stadium

Duhok Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Dohuk, Kurdistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home stadium of Duhok football club. The stadium originally held 10,000 people, but after reconstruction it now holds 20,000 people.

Lalish

Lalish is a small mountain valley situated in northern Iraq about 60 km northwest of the city of Mosul. It is the location of the tomb of Şêx Adî, main figure of the Yazidi faith. At least once in their lifetime Yazidi's are expected to make a six-day pilgrimage to Lalish to visit the tomb of Şêx Adî, and other sacred places. Yazidi's living in the region are expected to make a yearly pilgrimage to attend the autumn Feast of the Assembly, which is celebrated from 23 Aylūl to 1 Tašrīn I.

Zawita

Zawita, is an Iraqi town of about 5,000 people the Dohuk Governorate. The name of the village is thought to come from Syriac ܙܘܝܬܐ meaning "corner". The village is inhabited mainly by Kurds and the second biggest group being the Assyrians. At one point it was home to majority Assyrians, prior to the Simele massacre. A number of Christian-owned businesses in the village were looted and burned downed during the 2011 Dohuk riots.
