Bashiqa

Bashiqa, is a town located in the Al-Hamdaniya District of the Ninawa Governorate in northern Iraq. Bashiqa's residents are mostly Yazidis, Assyrian Christians and Muslims. In 2007, a large mob in the Yazidi community in Bashiqa lynched a local 17-year-old Yazidi girl as “armed and uniformed police st[oo oo]d by watching her being killed over several minutes”.
