Palatine is a village in County Carlow, Ireland. It lies mostly within the townlands of Knockarda and Killyshane, close to the County Kildare border. "Palatinetown" is mentioned in A Topographical Dictionary of Ireland by Samuel Lewis, 1837: “ PALATINETOWN, a hamlet, in the parish of URGLIN, barony and county of CARLOW, and province of LEINSTER, 2¾ miles (N. E. ) from Carlow, on the road to Castledermot; containing 88 inhabitants.

Duckett's Grove is ruins of the 18th-, 19th- and early 20th-century home of the Duckett family, which was formerly at the centre of a 12,000-acre estate, that has dominated the landscape of Carlow, Ireland for over 300 years.

Moone

Moone (Irish: Maen Colmcille, meaning "Colmcille's property") is a small village in the south of County Kildare, Ireland. It is on the former N9 road (now by-passed) about 80 km south of Dublin. It has only a few hundred inhabitants, a church, a National School, one shop and a small community centre. There is also pub called the Moone High Cross Inn. The name Moone comes from the Irish "Maen Colmcille" which means "Colmcille's property".

Timolin (Irish: Tigh Mo Linne, meaning "Moling's house") is a village in the south of County Kildare, Ireland. It is on the former N9 road (now by-passed) about 80 km south of Dublin. It is a small village, with less than a hundred inhabitants, one shop and a two pubs. It is located close to the Moone High Cross Inn. During the Irish Confederate Wars of the 1640s Timolin was the scene of a notorious massacre.
