Essen, Groningen

Essen is a small hamlet in the municipality Haren in the province Groningen. It lies between the city of Groningen and the village of Haren. In 1215 a monastery was founded in Essen (or Yesse). It existed until 1594. During the Protestant Reformation it was closed down by the province of Groningen. It was known for having a miraculous statue of Mary (mother of Jesus). Only the terrain on which the monastery was built is recognisable.

Kill, County Kildare

Kill (Irish: an Chill, meaning "the church") is a village and parish in County Kildare, Ireland near the county's border with Dublin beside the N7. Its population is 2,510 per the 2006 Census. ) Kill is the birthplace of the Fenian John Devoy as well as home to two holders of the most senior ministry in the Irish government, the most powerful family in the 18th century Irish House of Commons and the birthplace of a leader of the opposition in the British House of Commons (see "Politics" below).

Punchestown Racecourse

Punchestown Racecourse is located in the parish of Eadestown, between the R410 and R411 regional roads near Naas, County Kildare, in Ireland. It is known as the home of Irish Jumps Racing and plays host to the annual Irish National Hunt Festival. As well as horse racing, Punchestown hosts several music events, including the annual Oxegen, while AC/DC, Bon Jovi and Eminem are among the artists to have played concerts on the racecourse. Dick O'Sullivan has been interim manager since 2003.
