Caudium

Saticula

Saticula was a Samnite city near the frontier of Campania, southern Italy. In 343 BC, during the First Samnite War the Roman consul Cornelius attacked it during the campaign against the Samnites. Its archaeological remains are in the territory of the modern town of Sant'Agata de' Goti.

Montevergine

The Montevergine, also known as Partenio or Monti di Avella, is a limestone massif in Campania, central Italy, part of the Apennine chain. It is located near Avellino, in the comune of Mercogliano. It has slopes covered by chestnut and beech trees, up to some 1,480 m over the sea level. Under the peak, at some 1,270 m, is the Sanctuary of Montevergine, which attract numerous pilgrims. It was consecreated in 1124 near the ruins of a temple of Cybele.

Aqueduct of Vanvitelli

The Aqueduct of Vanvitelli or Caroline Aqueduct is an aqueduct built to supply the Reggia di Caserta and the San Leucio complex, supplied by water arising at the foot of Taburno, from the springs of the Fizzo, in the territory of Bucciano (BN), which it carries along a winding 38 km route (mostly underground).

Battle of Suessula

The Battle of Suessula was according to the Roman historian Livy (59 BC – AD 17) the third and last battle between the Samnites and the Roman Republic in 343 BC. the first year of the First Samnite War. According to Livy's description of the battle in Book Seven of his history of Rome, Ab Urbe Condita, the Samnites gathered their army at Suessula, at the eastern edge of Campania. The Roman consul, Marcus Valerius Corvus, took his army by forced marches to Suessula.
