The Strona is a mountain torrent in the Province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, northern Italy, a tributary of the Toce. It rises on Monte Capezzone at an elevation of 2,421 m and runs through the Valle Strona before entering the Toce. At Omegna it is joined by the Nigoglia, the outlet of Lago d’Orta.

Lake Mergozzo) is a small sub-alpine lake in northern Italy just to the west of Lago Maggiore and north of Lago d'Orta, at the mouth of the Val d’Ossola in the province of Verbano Cusio Ossola, Piedmont. In ancient times it was the extreme point of the short northwestern arm of Lago Maggiore, formed by glaciation.

Sacro Monte di Varallo
The Sacred Mountain of Varallo (Italian: Sacro Monte di Varallo) is the oldest of the Italian and foreign constructions of its kind. It was founded in 1491, by friar Bernardino Caimi of the Ordine dei Minori Osservanti di San Francesco. The Sacro Monte was built on a rocky foundation, positioned on the slopes of Monte Tre Croci (Mount of three crosses), on the left-hand side of the river Sesia, where it leaves Val Mastallone.
