Together with the Monte Linas massif, from which they are separated by the flood plain of the Cixerri River, they form the Sulcis-Iglesiente Mountains, one of the most ancient geological formations in the island.

Monte Arcosu is a mountain in the Sulcis massif, in southern Sardinia, Italy. It has an elevation of 948 metres . The mountain has a characteristically truncated cone shape, resulting from the differential erosion which followed its formation during the Variscan orogeny. The massif is formed by a granitic intrusion from the Carboniferous, lying on a Paleozoic schist basement and in turn surmounted by Paleozoic scists.

The Giardino Montano Linasia (9,000 m²) is a nature preserve and botanical garden located at 720 meters altitude near Monte Linas in San Benedetto, Iglesias, Province of Carbonia-Iglesias, Sardinia, Italy. The garden was established in 1989 by the Ente Foreste della Sardegna, and realized in 1992 in collaboration with the Istituto di Botanica dell'Università di Cagliari.
