Capo Mannu

Capo Mannu is a promontory in Sardinia, Italy. The cape is situated in the territory of the Comune of San Vero Milis, in the Province of Oristano, approximately 22 km north of Oristano. It is also the northern tip of the Sinis peninsula, and it is part of the Marine Protected Area Sinis Peninsula and Island of Mal di Ventre.

Giants of Monte Prama

The Giants of Monte Prama are ancient stone sculptures created by the Nuragic civilization of Sardinia, Italy. Fragmented into numerous pieces, they were found by accident in March 1974, in farmland near Monte Prama, in the comune of Cabras, province of Oristano, in central-western Sardinia. The statues are carved in local sandstone and their height varies between 2 and 2.5 meters.

Battle of Cornus

The Battle of Cornus, or Caralis took place when a Carthaginian army sailed to Sardinia in support of a Sardinian revolt against Roman rule. The army, led by Hasdrubal the Bald, fought a similar size Roman army under Praetor Titus Manlius Torquatus in the Fall of 215 BC somewhere between Cornus and Caralis. The Romans destroyed the Carthaginian army and then scattered their fleet in a sea battle south of Sardinia.

Tharros

Tharros was an ancient city on the west coast of Sardinia, Italy, and is currently an archaeological site near the village of San Giovanni di Sinis, municipality of Cabras, in the Province of Oristano. It is located on the southern shores of the Sinis peninsula, that forms the northern cape of the Bay of Oristano, the cape of San Marco.

Tirso (river)

The Tirso is a 152 km Italian river, the most important of the island Sardinia. It rises from the plateau of Buddusò, on the slopes of the Punta Pianedda at an elevation of 985 m and crosses the island from east to west, entering the sea in the Gulf of Oristano.
