Spanish Town railway station

Spanish Town railway station opened in 1845 and closed in 1992 when all passenger services in Jamaica abruptly ceased. It provided rail services to Kingston and Montego Bay, Port Antonio, Ewarton and New Works. It was 11.75 miles from the Kingston terminus. It is on the list of designated National Heritage Sites in Jamaica.

Prison Oval

Prison Oval is a multi-use stadium in Spanish Town, Jamaica, currently used mostly for football matches. It serves as the home ground of Rivoli United FC. The stadium holds 2,000 people. The name 'Prison Oval' is attributed to it being on the same property as the maximum security Saint Catherine Prison. Some prisoners are able to watch matches and other events from the 'comfort' of their cells. It is featured in the Barrington Levy song "Prison Oval Rock".

St. Catherine Adult Correctional Centre

St. Catherine Adult Correctional Centre, Jamaica, formerly Saint Catherine District Prison and sometimes called Spanish Town Prison, was built to accommodate 850 male inmates but has held over 1300 on occasions. It contains the only death-row on the island. It is operated by the Department of Correctional Services for the Ministry of National Security

St. Catherine High School is a Roman Catholic co-educational school in the parish of St Catherine, Jamaica. It was founded by the nuns of the order of the Sisters of Mercy and the Jesuit Fathers in 1948.
