Kiryū, Gunma is a city in Gunma, Japan, near the cities of Ōta and Ashikaga. Incorporated on March 1, 1921, Kiryū is considered both a city and part of the Greater Tokyo Metropolitan Area, although it is still widely thought of as a rural area. Its population has been in steady decline since the early 1990s, due to both a national population stagnation as well as a steady migration of young people to metropolitan areas.

Okawa Museum of Art
The Okawa Museum of Art is an art gallery in Kiryū, Gunma Prefecture, Japan that concentrates on modern Japanese art. The gallery, which opened in April 1989, presents the collection of the businessman and writer Eiji Ōkawa (大川栄ニ, 1924–2008), who was born in Kiryū, and has about 6500 items. At its core are about eighty works by Shunsuke Matsumoto (松本竣介) and Hideo Noda (野田英夫); there are many works by other artists associated with these two.
