Mukurwe-ini

Mukurweini was elevated to District status in 2008. The old Mukurweini Divisional boundaries remain as the new District's boundaries. Before Kenya's Independence in 1963, Mukurweini was referred to as South Tetu Division. The new District is one of the seven new Districts created out of the old Nyeri District of Central Province of Kenya. The new District headquarters are located at Kiahungu Township which is also the commercial hub for Mukurweini.

Othaya

Othaya is a Kenyan town about 120 kilometres north of Nairobi, the capital. It has a population of 21,427, of which 4,108 are core urban (1999 census); the majority of the residents are of the Kikuyu tribe. Othaya is part of the Nyeri District. It is an agricultural area with coffee and tea as the main cash crops. Main crop grown in the area are Tea and coffee, while most farmers are subsistence. Othaya is home to Chinga dam, the largest water reservoir in the Nyeri District.

Kamacharia

Kamacharia is a small Kikuyu village in Kenya. Coffee growing is the principal economic activity. Administratively, Kamacharia is a location in the Mathioya division of Muranga District. It is now in Mathioya district. Gathunya location has been hived from Kamacharia location.

Gatuyaini is a village in Othaya division of Nyeri District, Kenya. It is part of Othaya town council and Othaya Constituency. The village is home to Gatuyaini Primary School. People from Gatuyaini include Mwai Kibaki, president from 2002.

Future Leaders Academy, Kenya

The Future Leaders Academy is a private, mixed, day and boarding school established in 2000 in the Nyeri District near Mt. Kenya. It is owned by Evanson Mundia and Martha Nyarurii Mundia who are both retired teachers. The Future Leaders Academy is a not-for-profit independent school registered with the Kenyan Ministry of Education, as a private school. With approximately 130 students and staff, it is a multi-cultural school with students from all over the country.
