Meru South District

Meru South District is one of the seventy-one districts of Kenya, located in that country's Eastern Province. In 1992, it was split from the large Meru District, along with Meru Central District, Meru North District, and Tharaka District. Meru South District is the home of the Ameru (Meru) tribe, which is sometimes described as being related to other tribes living around the Mount Kenya region: the Kikuyu and the Embu people.

Chuka, Kenya

Chuka is a town in Meru South District of Kenya about 70 km South Of Meru Town. It falls within Eastern Province and the people of the area are Kimeru speaking. It is on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. Chuka Town is chiefly occupied by the Chuka people,one of the nine Meru dialect Speakers. They dwell on the south-eastern slopes of Mt. Kenya, and cover the area between the Thuci River in the south, and the Nithi River in the north.

Chogoria

Chogoria is a town located in Mwimbi Division of Maara District of Tharaka-Nithi County of Kenya. It is located roughly 140 Miles (about 225 km) from Nairobi. It is connected to the rest of the country by the all-weather, tarmacked Meru-Embu road. The closest town to Chogoria is Chuka. Other surrounding towns are Egoji, Nkubu, Meru and Embu. Kanyuambora

Kanyuambora is an administrative division in Eastern Kenya which is commonly known as a "Location". It lies on Latitude: 0° -29' 0 N, Longitude: 37° 43' 0 E and is about 90 miles North East of Nairobi. Kanyuambora is one of the eight locations that form Siakago constituency which is in turn is one of the two constituencies that form Mbeere District.

Kangaru High School

Kangaru School is located in the Eastern Province of Kenya in Embu. It was built by the first missionaries that arrived in Kenya during the colonialism in the 1920s. It was rebuilt in 1947 on a Harambee basis. There is a nearby village called Kangaru which is probably where the name comes from. There is a river close to the school, the Kapingazi River, that students called "rivee. " The student population is about 500 with a teaching staff of about 30.
