Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu

Established in 1952, the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu is a 76-bed acute care facility. The hospital provides general medicine services, specialist clinics and high-tech diagnostic services and has an emergency Casualty Department. It is part of the Aga Khan Health Services international referral system with links to Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi and Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi.

Kisumu

Kisumu is a port city in western Kenya at 1,131 m, with a population of 394,684 (2009 census). It is the third largest city in Kenya, the principal city of western Kenya, the immediate former capital of Nyanza Province and the headquarters of Kisumu County. It has a municipal charter but no city charter. It is the largest city in Nyanza region and second most important city after Kampala in the greater Lake Victoria basin.

Ahero

Ahero is a town in Kenya. It is part of Nyando District of Nyanza Province. Ahero hosts a town council. It has an urban population of 7,891 and a total population of 61,556. The town is located 20 kilometres east of Kisumu, the Provincial capital. Two major roads meet at Ahero, the B3 road from Nakuru To Kisumu and A1 road from Tanzanian border. The Nyando River flows through central Ahero. The main local industry is agriculture, including rice fields.

Kisumu Airport

Kisumu International Airport is an airport in Kisumu, Kenya. It is the third busiest airport in Kenya and the country's fourth international airport. The airport has a new terminal with the capacity to handle 700 passengers an hour which translates to 2 million passengers per year. In 2011 the length of the runway was extended from 2 kilometres to 3.3 kilometres giving the airport the capacity to handle large capacity passenger and cargo aircraft.
