Embakasi

Embakasi is a division of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. It is located east of the central business district. As a residential estate it houses mostly lower middle income citizens. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the main airport of Nairobi is located in Embakasi and it was known as Embakasi Airport when it was opened in 1958. Embakasi is considered part of Nairobi's Eastlands area, lying to the south-east of Nairobi province.

Moi Air Base

Moi Air Base, formerly known as RAF Eastleigh and Eastleigh Airport is a military airport located to the east of Nairobi, in the Eastleigh suburb. The airport is used by the Kenya Air Force. Additionally, the air base is the home of the East African School of Aviation run by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, which was established at the airport in 1954 as the DCA training school. The airport is also used to train Kenyan Air Cadets.

Solar Ice Rink

The Solar Ice Rink is an ice rink located in Nairobi, Kenya. The rink is located in the Panari Sky Centre, a large retail, leisure and hotel accommodation complex. Opened in 2005, the Solar Ice Rink is the largest rink in Africa, and the first rink in East Africa and Central Africa. The rink cost US$700,000 to build. The rink covers an area of 1,400 square metres, and can accommodate 200 skaters.

Nairobi City Stadium

Nairobi City Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Nairobi, Kenya. It is located east of the city centre. The stadium is owned by the Nairobi City Council. The stadium was originally known as African Stadium. then Renamed to Donholm Road Stadium. It was renamed to Jogoo Road Stadium after Kenya gained independence in 1963 and finally to Nairobi City Stadium. It was the principal stadium in Nairobi until the 1980s when Nyayo National Stadium and Moi International Sports Centre were built.

Mathare

Mathare is a collection of slums in Nairobi, Kenya with a population of approximately 500,000 people; the population of Mathare Valley alone, the oldest of the slums that make up Mathare, is 180,000 people. Mathare is the home of football team Mathare United of the MYSA.
