Chiradzulu District

Chiradzulu is a district in the Southern Region of Malawi. The capital is Chiradzulu. The district covers an area of 767 km. ² and has a population of 236,050. Chiradzulu contains five National Assembly constituencies: Chiradzulo-West, Chiradzulu - East, Chiradzulu-Central, Chiradzulu-North and Chiradzulu-South. Since the 2009 general election all of these constituencies have been represented by politicians from the Democratic Progressive Party.

Chiradzulu Mountain

Chiradzulu Mountain is located approximately 20 km to the north-east of Blantyre, Malawi's main commercial centre. The administrative district of Chiradzulu in southern Malawi was named after this mountain. Chiradzulu Mountain rises to a peak of 1,773m above seal level and is the third highest mountain peak in southern Malawi. It comes third after Mulanje Mountain, whose famous Sapitwa peak rises to 3,002m above sea level; and Zomba Mountain, which rises to 2,085m above sea level at its peak.

St Michael and All Angels Church, Blantyre, Malawi

St Michael and All Angels Church was constructed from 1888 to 1891 of brick at the Blantyre Mission in Blantyre, Malawi. It is located on the original Scottish mission site, off Chileka Rd, and is in the Church of Central Africa, Presbyterian’s Blantyre Synod. Since 1991, it has been partnered with Hiland Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1885 by Lieutenant H. E.

Kamuzu Stadium

Kamuzu Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Blantyre, Malawi. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 40,000. Originally named Langley Stadium during colonial era, it was named Kamuzu Stadium, after Malawi's first President, Hastings Kamuzu Banda, when Malawi got independence from Britain.
