Stade Germain Comarmond
Stade Germain Comarmond is a multi-use stadium in Bambous, Rivière Noire District, Mauritius. It is currently used mostly for football and athletics matches. The stadium was built in 2001. The venue hosted the 2006 African Championships in Athletics. It is currently the home stadium of the Mauritius national under-17 football team, Mauritius national under-20 football team, Petite Rivière Noire SC and Bambous Etoile de L'Ouest Sports Club.

Corps de Garde is a 720 metre-high mountain of volcanic origin, in the area of the Moka Range between the Mont du Rempart (545 m) and the Le Pouce Mountain (812 m) in the Plaines Wilhems district of Mauritius. The name derived from the fact that a French military post was once established on its slope to control the bands of runaway slaves. This basaltic rock has an imposing appearance which is characterized by an abruptly breakup of the slope towards the sea.

Tamarin, Mauritius
Tamarin is a village on the western coast of Mauritius. It has long been the seat of the council district of Rivière Noire. Recently the district council has been moved to new headquarters in Bambous, this village being more accessible to the villagers. An old fisherman village, Tamarin has developed into a residential area and a moderated holiday resort. Tamarin is especially popular with surfers. Tamarin is linked with a main road linking Port Louis and east to Curepipe.

Rivière Noire District
Rivière Noire is a district of Mauritius on the western side of the island. Its name Rivière Noire translates to Black River. This region receives less rainfall than the others. The district has an area of 259 square kilometres and the population estimate was 76,627 as of 31 December 2010. It is the third largest District of Mauritius in area, but the smallest in terms of population.
