Pamplemousses District

Pamplemousses is a district of Mauritius, located in the north west of the island, and is one of the most densely populated parts of the island. The name of the district comes from the French word for grapefruits. The district has an area of 178.7 km and the population estimate was at 138,339 as at 31st December 2010.

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden

The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden (sometimes shortened to the SSR Botanical Garden), commonly known as the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, is a popular tourist attraction near Port Louis, Mauritius, and the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere. The garden was first constructed by Pierre Poivre (1719 – 1786) in 1770, and covers an area of around 37 hectares.

Beekrumsing Ramlallah State Secondary School

Stade Anjalay

Stade Anjalay is a multi-use stadium in Belle Vue, Pamplemousses District, Mauritius. At present, it is used mostly for football matches. The parking area of the stadium is used for car racing and motorcycle racing. The stadium holds 30,000 and was renovated in 2003 for a cost of $35 million.

Rivière du Rempart (river)

The Rivière du Rempart is a river in northeast Mauritius. It is the outflow of La Nicolière, a lake in the central north of Mauritius, and flows northeast to reach the Indian Ocean north of Poste de Flacq. The river gives its name to the Rivière du Rempart District.
