United States Naval Communications Station Sidi Yahya El Gharb

United States Naval Communications Station Sidi Yahya El Gharb was a Naval base of communication station of facilities, supply, and rest and recreation of the United States Navy located in Sidi Yahya El Gharb, Morocco. It was a U.S. Navy installation following to Port Lyautey Air Base. was closed in 1975. Following its closure in 1977, it was transformed into a military barracks serving the 5th Moroccan air military base of Sidi Slimane by the Royal Moroccan Air Force.

Iulia Valentia Banasa

Colonia Iulia Valentia Banasa was one of the three colonias in Mauretania Tingitana founded by emperor Augustus between 33 and 25 BC. for veterans of the battle of Actium. It was located on the southern bank of the Sebou River on the site now known as Sidi Ali Boujenoun. At the start of the reign of Marcus Aurelius, Banasa became Colonia Aurelia. In 285 AD the Roman province of Mauretania Tingitana was reduced to the territories located north of the Lixus.

Thamusida

Thamusida is an ancient Roman river port in Morocco, near Kénitra and Mehdia. The site was excavated from 1913 by the French, then 1959 to 1962 and since 1998. Many items found in Thamusida are today on display at the Rabat Archaeological Museum. It occupies an area of fifteen acres. Excavations have unearthed the walls of the docks and baths. Under the Antonines, a temple was built to worship Venus. The site was abandoned around 280.
