Matola

Matola is a city in southern Mozambique, which lies 12 kilometers to the west of the country's capital, Maputo. Matola is the capital of Maputo Province and has had its own elected municipal government since 1998. It has a port and also the biggest industrial area in Mozambique. Mozal

Mozal is an aluminium smelter joint project in Mozambique. The project is a smelting facility that began operations as a producer of aluminium exclusively for export. The smelter is located 20km west of the city of Maputo in the south of the country. Mozal is a joint venture between BHP Billiton (41 percent), Mitsubishi Corporation (25 percent), Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (24 percent), and the Government of Mozambique (4 percent).
