Rehoboth, Namibia

Rehoboth is a town of 21,000 inhabitants in central Namibia just north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Located on the B1 road, 90 kilometres south of the Namibian capital Windhoek, Rehoboth lies on a high elevation plateau with several natural hot-water springs. It receives sparse mean annual rainfall of 240 millimetres, although in the 2010/2011 a record 731 millimetres were measured. In 2005, it had a population of 21,378.

Rehoboth (homeland)

Rehoboth (or Basterland) was a bantustan in South West Africa intended by the apartheid government to be a self-governing homeland for the Baster people. A centrally administered local government was created in 1979. It is one of the few self-governing homelands that still exists today.

Rehoboth Urban West is an electoral constituency in the Hardap region of Namibia, comprising the suburbs of Rehoboth that are situated to the west of the national road B1. It has a population of 9201. Constituency Councillor is Theo Diergaardt who doubles as Namibia's Deputy Minister of Lands and Resettlement.
