Oshikoto is one of the thirteen regions of Namibia. The northern part of the region is agricultural, whereas the main economic activities in the southern part are cattle rearing and mining. Namutoni
Namutoni is a restcamp on the edge of Etosha pan in the Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia. It is one of the entrance gates to Etosha National Park. The most prominent structure at Namutoni is Fort Namutoni, a fort that was originally a German police post and later as a place to hold English prisoners in World War I. The original fort was destroyed shortly after its construction in 1904 and rebuilt a year or two later.
