Mechi Zone

Mechi (Nepali: मेची अञ्चल, is one of the fourteen zones of Nepal. Its headquarters are at Ilam. It comes under the Eastern Region of Nepal . The Indian state of Bihar is to the south and Tibet to the north. The largest town is Damak in the Terai. The majority of the population in Mechi are Kirantis and other ethnic groups like Koche and Meche, and hill castes like Bahun and Chhetris.

Puwamajhuwa

Sandakfu

Sandakfu or Sandakphu (3636 m; 11929 ft) is the highest peak in the state of West Bengal, India. It is situated at the edge of the Singalila National Park in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal-Sikkim border, and is the highest point of the Singalila Ridge. Sandakphu has a small village on the peak with a number of hostels. Four of the five highest peaks in the world, Everest, Kanchendzonga, Lhotse and Makalu can be seen from its summit.

Falut

Phalut or Falut (3600 m) is the second highest peak of West Bengal, India. Part of the Singalila Ridge in the Himalayas, it is located at the border of the Indian states of West Bengal and Sikkim and the country of Nepal. It is located inside the Singalila National Park. A small bunkhouse is near the top of the peak and is administered by the Indian army. Singalila Pass is 17 km away from Phalut. The indigenous tribes surrounding the mountain peak are known as Falutians by outsiders.

Panchthar District (Nepali: पाँचथर जिल्ला, a part of Mechi Zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. The district, with Panchthar as its district headquarters, covers an area of 1,241 km² and has a population of 202,056. Panchthar's majority population is that of Kirantis and other ethnic groups and hill castes.
