Nagarote

Nagarote is a municipality in the León department of Nicaragua with a population of approximately 32,000 people. The city of Nagarote itself is home to about 18,000 people whilst the rural areas surrounding it are inhabited by about 14,000 people. It is located 42 km from Managua. Nagarote formerly had a sea port called Puerto Sandino. This port was attacked in 1983, which destroyed the port. Nagarote is paired with Norwalk, Connecticut in the U.S.

León Viejo

León Viejo is a World Heritage Site in Nicaragua. It was the original location of León. It is the present location of the town of Puerto Momotombo in the Municipality of La Paz Centro of the Department of León. Lake Managua

Lake Managua (also known as Lake Xolotlán) is a lake in Nicaragua. The Spanish name is Lago de Managua or Lago Xolotlán. At 1,042 km², it is approximately 65 kilometres long and 25 kilometres wide. Similarly to the name of Lake Nicaragua, its name was coined by the Spanish conquerors from "Mangue" (their name for the Mánkeme tribes) and agua ("water"). The city of Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, lies on its southwestern shore.
