Otamiri River

The Otamiri River is one of the main rivers in Imo State, Nigeria. The river takes its name from Ota Miri, a deity who owns all the waters that are called by his name, and who is often the dominating god of Mbari houses. The river runs south from Egbu past Owerri and through Nekede, Ihiagwa, Eziobodo, Olokwu Umuisi, Mgbirichi and Umuagwo to Ozuzu in Etche, in the Rivers State, from where it flows to the Atlantic Ocean.

Oyigbo

Oyigbo is a town and Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. It is a satellite of Port Harcourt, lying a few kilometers to the northeast of the city. Sir Precious Oforji was elected Chairman of the Oyigbo LGA in 2008. Sunday Elechi Oforji was Chief in Oyigbo until his death in July 2009. Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) operates an oil well in the LGA. The Oyigbo people are of Igbo extraction.

Chokocho

Chokocho is a community in Rivers State, Nigeria near the Otamiri River. The Chokocho bridge across the Otamiri, damaged during the Nigerian civil war, was rebuilt during the governorship of Peter Odili. The bridge on the Igwuruta – Okehi – Okpalla road is 60m x 11m (4 spans of 15m each), built by Setraco Nigeria Ltd and completed in December 2002.

Etche

Etche is a Local Government Area (LGA) in Rivers State, Nigeria, named after the Etche (Echie) people of Southern Nigeria. The Etche are from Southern Nigeria and speak their own language. They also inhabit Omuma LGA; Etche/Omuma is a National Assembly constituency.

Port Harcourt NAF Base

Port Harcourt NAF Base is located in Port Harcourt, a city in the Rivers State of Nigeria. It is a base owned by the Nigerian Air Force. It gained popularity as a commercial destination due to the closure of Port Harcourt International Airport. After that airport reopened, most airlines abandoned the base. However, it still has some destinations since the airport is closer to the center than the main airport.
