Ikot Okoro

Ikot Okoro is a rural settlement of Akwa Ibom State and was one of the larger population concentrations in the now defunct South Eastern Nigeria. Now smaller, it is about 15 km southwest of the regional center of Abak. The people of Ikot Okoro have been clamoring for the creation of a local Government area (LGA) from the present day Oruk Anam LGA.

A342 highway (Nigeria)

The A342 highway is a highway in Nigeria. It is one of the east-west roads linking the main south-north roads. (It is named from the two highways it links). It runs from the A3 highway at Aba, Abia State to Oron, Akwa Ibom State on the southern side of Cross River from the beginning of the A4 highway. The road passes through Ikot Ekpene and Uyo.

Uyo

Uyo is a city in south-eastern Nigeria and is the capital of Akwa Ibom State, a major oil producing state of Nigeria. The city became a capital of Akwa Ibom State on September 23, 1987 following the creation of Cross River State. The University of Uyo resides in this city. The population of Uyo, according to the 2006 Nigerian Census which comprises Uyo and Itu, is 436,606. while the urban Area, including Uruan, is 554,906.

Mkpat-Enin

Mkpat-Enin is located in the south east of Nigeria and is a town and a Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It is at an altitude of about 185 m. The LGA has an area of 322.352 km and is located within the industrial belt extending from Ibiono, Eket to Ikot Abasi. The people are traditionally Ibibio speakers. The population was 178,036 based on the 2006 census. The area is rich in oil and natural gas. Oil was discovered in Ikot Akpa/Ekop as early as 1953.
