Warri Airport

Osubi Airstrip, also known as Warri Airport, is located at Osubi, a town near Warri in Delta State, Nigeria. It has a runway of about 1.8 kilometres and is about 10 minutes drive by car from the city of Warri. The federal government first drew up plans to build an airport here in the late 1970s to easy transport into Warri city by air because of its status as an oil city but languished the Plan for over two decades in a mixture of neglect and corruption.

Oghara

Oghara is a town in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. It is one of the major clans of the Urhobo ethnic group. It has various educational Institutions such as the Oghareki Model Secondary School Oghareki, Delta State Polytechnic in Otefe-Oghara and the Western Delta University (a privately owned university). Also a mini stadium is located within the town.

1998 Jesse pipeline explosion

On October 18, 1998 a pipeline explosion occurred in the community of Jesse, 290 kilometres southeast of Lagos, Nigeria. The cause of the blast has been debated. The Nigerian government stated the explosion took place after scavengers intentionally ruptured the pipeline with their tools and ignited the blaze; however, others have stated the pipeline ruptured due to a lack of maintenance and neglect with a cigarette igniting the fire.

Warri Township Stadium

Warri Township Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Warri, Nigeria on Cemetery Road. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the regular home for Warri Wolves F.C.. The stadium hosted the final tournament for the 2006 Women's African Football Championship and has a capacity of 20,000 people, all covered. It is currently under renovation to be brought to specs for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
