Songnim

Songnim is a city on the Taedong River in North Hwanghae Province, North Korea. It had a population of 100,000 in 1991. The city was originally named Solme. Iron works began to be developed during the Japanese colonial period of Korea. Before Korean independence Songnim was known as Kyŏmip'o. It was bombed during the Korean War, later it was rebuilt.

Taedong River

The Taedong River is a large river in North Korea. It rises in the Rangrim Mountains of the country's north. It then flows southwest into Korea Bay at Namp'o. In between, it runs through the country's capital, Pyongyang. Along the river are landmarks such as the Juche Tower and Kim Il-sung Square. The river has a length of 439 kilometers and is generally deep. It is the fifth longest river on the Korean peninsula and the second longest in North Korea.

Pyongyang University of Science and Technology

Pyongyang University of Science and Technology (PUST) is North Korea's first privately funded university. It is founded, operated and partly funded by associations and people outside the country. PUST was jointly planned and constructed by forces from both the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Republic of Korea, along with contributions from groups and individuals from other nations, in particular China and the USA. The initiative is largely funded by Evangelical Christian movements.

Pyeonghwa Motors

Pyeonghwa Motors, (a Korean language word for "peace", also spelled Pyonghwa) is one of the two car manufacturers and dealers in North Korean automotive industry. It is a joint-venture in Nampo between Pyonghwa Motors of Seoul, a company owned by Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church, and the North Korean Ryonbong General Corp.
