Nyongbyon County

Nyongbyon County, alternatively Yongbyon County, is a county in North Pyong'an Province, North Korea. It borders the cities of Kaech'on and Anju, and covers an area of 504 km². The city was heavily fortified during the 15th century as a result of its strategic position, and during the Joseon Dynasty, became a famous retreat for the aristocratic Yangban due to its fantastic scenery.

Battle of Unsan

The Battle of Unsan, also known as the Battle of Yunshan, was a series of engagements of the Korean War that took place from 25 October to 4 November 1950 near Unsan, North Pyongan province in present-day North Korea. As part of the Chinese First Phase Campaign, the People's Republic of China's People's Volunteer Army made repeated attacks against the Republic of Korea 1st Infantry Division near Unsan beginning on 25 October, in an attempt to take advancing United Nations forces by surprise.

Kunu-dong

Kunu-dong (Kunuri) is a village located in South Pyongan Province, North Korea. A key battle of the Korean War, the Battle of Kunu-ri, took place there in November 1950. Kunu-ri was mainly a communication center and a railroad station at the time, and it contains the lateral east-west road which runs from Sinanju on the west coast and Hungnamon the east coast.

The Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River, also known as the Battle of the Ch'ongch'on or the Second Phase Campaign Western Sector (Chinese: 第二次战役西线; pinyin: Dì Èr Cì Zhàn Yì Xī Xiàn), was a decisive battle in the Korean War, and it took place from November 25 to December 2, 1950 along the Ch'ongch'on River Valley at the northwestern part of North Korea.
