Helligvær Church

Helligvær Church is a parish church in the municipality of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Helligvær islands in the Vestfjorden. The church is part of the Bodin parish in the Bodø deanery in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The small wooden church was built in 1899 on the little island of Storsørøya in the middle of the Helligvær islands. It was originally a small bedehus (meeting house), but in 1908 it was consecrated as an official chapel.

Sørarnøy

Sørarnøy or Sørarnøya is a small island and village in the municipality of Gildeskål in Nordland county, Norway. The 4-square-kilometre island is located west of the villages of Lekanger, Mårnes, and Våg on the neighboring island of Sandhornøya. Its population (2007) is 205. The fishing village of Sørarnøya covers the majority of the island of Sørarnøya.

Helligvær

Helligvær is an island group in the Vestfjorden in the municipality of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. The islands are located about 25 kilometres northwest of the town of Bodø. The Bliksvær islands are about 12 kilometres to the south, Landegode island is 15 kilometres to the east, and Røst and Værøy islands around about 60 kilometres to the west. There are about 365 islands, islets, and skerries in the group. They are all low and grassy with no trees.

Nordstranda Chapel

Nordstranda Chapel is a chapel in the municipality of Gildeskål in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Lekanger on the west side of the island of Sandhornøya. The church is part of the Gildeskål parish in the Bodø deanery in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The wooden chapel was built in 1963 and it seats about 163 people.

Sandhornøya

Sandhornøya is a mountainous island in the municipality of Gildeskål in Nordland county, Norway. The 103-square-kilometre island is located south of the town of Bodø near the entrance to the Saltfjorden. The mainland of Norway lies to the east and the island of Sørarnøy lies to the west. The villages of Lekanger, Mårnes, and Våg are located on the island. The island is connected to the mainland by the Sandhornøy Bridge.
