Firda Upper Secondary School
Firda Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Firda vidaregåande skule) is a school located in the town of Sandane in the municipality of Gloppen in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The highway E39 passes just north of the school. In 1927, Kaare Fostervoll who was later director-general of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation was a headmaster here from 1927–1938.

The airport is located north of the municipality centre, at the base of a peninsula between the fjords Nordfjord and Gloppefjord. The airport is operated by Avinor, and serve the towns of Sandane and Nordfjordeid, as well as surrounding areas.

Eidselva

The river is part of Skiensvassdraget, and an important part of the Telemark Canal. On the stretch from Ulefoss to Flåvatn there are six sluices (14 sluicegates), with a total rise of around 57 meter. In the river, there are four hydroelecric power stations: Eidsfoss, Vrangfoss, Ulefoss and Aall-Ulefoss.
