Flekkerøy

Flekkerøy is an island situated outside the town of Kristiansand, part of Kristiansand municipality. Since 1989 it is connected to the mainland through a 2320 meter long tunnel. It has 2,632 inhabitants (1 January 2005).

German cruiser Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe was a light cruiser, the second member of the Königsberg class, and was operated between 1929 and April 1940, including service in World War II. She was operated by two German navies, the Reichsmarine and the Kriegsmarine. She had two sister ships, Königsberg and Köln. Karlsruhe was built by the Deutsche Werke shipyard in Kiel; she was laid down in July 1926, launched in August 1927, and commissioned into the Reichsmarine in November 1929.

Lagmannsholmen

Lagmannsholmen in Kristiansand's western harbour was the fleet station for the Danish-Norwegian skjærgård fleet from 1686 forward until the construction of a headquarters for the navy in Fredriksværn in the years 1750-1758. Today Lagmannsholmen forms part of Kristiansand's container port and is connected to Fiskebrygga (the Fish Wharf). Most of the island consists of large warehouses and a concrete grain silo.

Agder Teater

Agder Teater is a Norwegian theatre based in Kristiansand. It was established in 1991, and has been the regional theatre for Agder since 1995. Its first theatre director was Bentein Baardson, who led the theatre from 1991 to 1994. Alex Scherpf has been theatre director since 2005.
