Liwa Province

Liwa is a province in Al Batinah Region, Oman. It lies north of Sohar and has a lively market place where local produce and fresh fish are sold. The fortress of Awla Ya'rab, built of white clay, is located on the beach in the Harmul area. The area also has a number of rural features such as springs, falaj and caves: Ain al Azam cave faces the creek and is surrounded by mangrove trees, while Jebel Abu Kahif is home to some of the largest caves in the province.

Port of Sohar

Port of Sohar, also known as Sohar Industrial Port, is situated in the Al Batinah Region of Oman. It is a joint venture between the Omani government and the Port of Rotterdam. The port is operated by Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC SAOC).

Shinas

Shinas, population 43,312 as of 2005http://www. world-gazetteer. com/wg. php?x=1116711798&men=gcis&lng=en&gln=xx&dat=32&geo=-166&srt=npan&col=aohdq, is a coastal town in northern Oman, near the border between Oman and United Arab Emirates. Shinas has a distinctive collection of traditional buildings. The port of Shinas has dhows that are still operated and generate profits from fishing and exporting fresh seafood to the neighbouring Dubai for restaurant use.

Sohar

Sohar is the most developed city in the Sultanate of Oman outside the capital Muscat. It is about 200 kilometres north of Muscat. Sohar was an ancient capital of Oman and many believe it to be the birthplace of Sinbad the Sailor. Having a rich sailing history, Sohar was traditionally a fishing town, but is more recently known as Oman's industrial hub due to the massive developments in the Sohar Industrial Port.
