Kalanaur, Punjab

According to Imperial Gazetteer of India, Kalanaur was founded by two Muslim brothers named Kala and Noor. According to the historian Mohammad Latif, the town was founded by the Noor tribe of Rajputs who probably migrated from South India. It is also possible that the town took its name from the Kaleshwar temple, consecrated to Shiva, which stands within a local fort. The history is incomplete if without authentication. Kalanaur existed much before 13th. century.

Ghuman khurd

Ghuman khurd is a small village in the district and Tehsil Gurdaspur, Sub-Tehsil Naushera Majha Singh and is also known as Babe Wale Ghuman or Nikke Ghuman due to the name of Sant Baba Hazara Singh Ji. The village is situated 4 km from the Amritsar Pathankot Road from adda Naushera Majha Singh and 2 km from Chhina Railway station on the Amritsar Pathankot railway line.
