Anta Province

Anta Province is one of thirteen provinces in the Cusco Region in the southern highlands of Peru. <div class="thumb tnone" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right:auto; width:99%; max-width:px;"> The pampa de Anta, a plateau contains some of Anta Province, and Cusco's, best communal cultivated lands. It is located at around 3000 meters above sea level, and is used to cultivate mainly high altitude crops such as potatoes, tarwi (edible lupin), barley and quinoa.

Tambomachay

Tambomachay or Tampumachay is an archaeological site associated with the Inca Empire, located near Cusco, Peru. An alternate local name is the El Baño del Inca, "The Bath of the Inca". It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls that run through the terraced rocks. The function of the site is uncertain: it may have served as a military outpost guarding the approaches to Cusco, as a spa resort for the Incan political elite, or both.

Cathedral of Santo Domingo, Cusco

Not to be confused with Cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada, in Spain. The Cathedral of Santo Domingo, also known as Cusco Cathedral, is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cusco. The cathedral is located on the main road of Cusco, Peru, called the Avenida de Sol. Building was completed in 1654, almost a hundred years after construction began. Adjacent and joined to the cathedral is the smaller Iglesia del Triunfo, the first Christian church to be built in Cusco.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Abancay

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Abancay is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in Peru. It was erected on April 28, 1958 from the territory of the Archdiocese of Cuzco with Alcides Mendoza Castro being made its first bishop. It is a suffragan see to the Archdiocese of Cuzco. Gilberto Gómez González is bishop of the diocese since 2009.
