Santa Ana de la Ribera de Tarma is a city in Junín Region, Perú. Tarma is the capital city of the Province of Tarma, and is also called the Pearl of the Andes. The regional population is of around 123,350 inhabitants whilst the city of Tarma has a population of 60,542.

Tarma Province

The Tarma Province is a Peruvian province, making up one of the nine provinces that conform the Junín Region. To the north it borders with the Junín Province, the east with the Chanchamayo Province, the south with the Jauja Province and the west with the Yauli Province. The region has an area of 2,749.16 square kilometers, which represents the 6.2% of the departmental territory.

Yauli Province

The Yauli Province is one of the nine provinces in Peru that forms the Junín Region. To the north the province borders with the Pasco Region and the Province of Junín, the east with the Province of Tarma, the south with the Province of Jauja and the west with the region of Lima.

Chacamarca Historical Sanctuary

The Chacamarca Historical Sanctuary (Santuario Histórico de Chacamarca) is a 2500-hectare historical site within the Junín Region in the central highlands of Peru. The sanctuary protects the site of the 1824 Battle of Junín and the archaeological remains of the Pampus culture.
