Wałbrzych

Wałbrzych is a city in Lower Silesian Voivodeship in south-western Poland, with 120,197 inhabitants (31 December 2010). From 1975–1998 it was the capital of Wałbrzych Voivodeship; it is now the seat of Wałbrzych County. Wałbrzych is by far the largest city in Poland that does not itself form a separate county, having given up that status in 2003. (The next largest such town is Inowrocław, population 77,313.

Stary Zdrój

Stary Zdrój was a town of Poland, now part of a town Wałbrzych, 43 m. by rail S.W. from Wrocław, and 3 m. N. from centre of Wałbrzych. It has factories for glass, porcelain, machinery, cotton-spinning, iron-foundries and used to have coal-mines. Population (in 1900) 12,144.

Wałbrzych County

Wałbrzych County is a unit of territorial administration and local government in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, south-western Poland. It was created on January 1, 1999 as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. The county covers an area of 514.2 square kilometres . Its administrative seat is the city of Wałbrzych, and it also contains the towns of Boguszów-Gorce, Głuszyca, Szczawno-Zdrój, Jedlina-Zdrój and Mieroszów.

Szczawno-Zdrój

Szczawno-Zdrój (German: Bad Salzbrunn, to 1935 Ober Salzbrunn) is a spa town in Wałbrzych County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. (For more information about the history of the region, see Silesia. ) The town lies north of the Sudetes mountains, approximately 3 kilometres north-west of Wałbrzych and 66 kilometres south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. As at 2006, the town has a population of 5,506.

Dziećmorowice
